On July 15, 2024, a ceremonial laying of the first stone for the construction of the “Far Eastern Quarter” from one of the largest Russian developers – “Samolet” Group of Companies - took place in the Korsakovsky district. The investment project is being implemented with government support measures. “Today we are laying a capsule at the foundation of the construction of the “Heart of Sakhalin” residential complex. The name of the project is symbolic, because it is from here that the construction of new housing will begin for thousands of families and new generations of Sakhalin residents who will develop our region and the Far East as a whole,” said Governor Valery Limarenko. The first phase of construction should be completed by the end of 2028. As part of the first stage, the “Samolet” group will build 50 thousand square meters of housing - 1035 apartments, of which 145 will be rental housing. In total, by 2046, 460 thousand square meters of housing will appear here. Six kindergartens, two schools, multi-level parking lots, sports and playgrounds will also be built on the territory of the residential complex. In addition, residents will have a comfortable environment for walking in the fresh air and playing sports.
