A new resident of the Russian Arctic zone will build a modern berthing complex in the ancient Pomor village of Umba

“Los i Losos” (“Elk and Salmon”) company, which received resident status in the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation (AZRF) under an agreement with the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), is beginning an investment project to build a multifunctional berthing complex in the urban-type settlement of Umba in the Tersky District. The project is designed to expand the area's infrastructure and lay the foundation for developing the tourism potential of the entire coastline. The project requires an investment of approximately 45 million rubles. The complex is scheduled to open in early 2029.

Currently, the ancient Pomor village of Umba lacks functioning mooring facilities or slipways for launching small vessels. The project includes the construction of a system of moorings and a slipway, a boathouse for winter storage and repair, a fish unloading area, and an administrative building with 15-bed accommodation and a visitor center. It will be a key element of the future "Los i Losos" (Elk and Salmon) ecological base, planned for Lev Guba in the White Sea.
