Major Russian travel companies went to the Kuril Islands on a business mission

The Ministry of Eastern Development of Russia and the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), together with the government of the Sakhalin region, are starting a business mission to Kunashir Island. The business mission was organized in accordance with the instructions of the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev. The mission will be held fr om July 3 to July 5, 2024, with seven major Russian companies and organizations working in the tourism sector participating. “The Kuril Islands are a special territory. Both the government of the Sakhalin region and the federal authorities pay close attention to its development. Here we apply integrated approaches: we create infrastructure for the implementation of projects, provide comfortable conditions for specialists and unique support measures for investors - both federal and regional, and expand air traffic,” said Governor Valery Limarenko. During the trip, investors will be acquainted with eight investment sites, wh ere they will be given the opportunity to implement projects for the construction of hotel, entertainment complexes and glamping complexes. Participants of the trip will get acquainted with comfortable conditions for doing business. The Kuril Islands have the most favorable preferential regime in Russia: investors are exempt from basic taxes for 20 years, and have the opportunity to receive land and infrastructure support for the project. As part of the business mission, investors will be presented with success stories of creating a hotel complex, a fish processing plant and a mariculture farm project on Kunashir Island.
