The renovation of Far Eastern cities was presented at the “UrbanWay” forum

At the “UrbanWay” International Urban Forum, the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) presented a comprehensive approach to urban development in the Far Eastern Federal District, combining the implementation of large-scale master plans with systematic improvement efforts. Vyacheslav Zavalin, Acting Director of the FEDC's Territorial Development Department, delivered the presentation. He noted that the Far East, accounting for 41% of Russia's territory, demonstrate a unique urban structure: approximately 3.9 million people live in large cities with populations over 50,000, and another 4 million live in small towns and villages. Master plans for the development of Far Eastern cities have been developed to support the comprehensive development of these territories, with a total funding requirement estimated at 4.4 trillion rubles. Funds are being invested in key areas: housing and comfortable environment, social services, housing and utilities, industry, and transport infrastructure.
