The construction of the Amur Gas Processing Plant (hereinafter - “GPP”) in the district of Svobodny city of the Amur Region has been under way since October 2015, and forms part of Gazprom’s implementation of its Eastern Gas Program in the Advanced Special Economic Zone “Amurskaya”. The GPP will have a rated capacity of 42 billion m3 of natural gas a year. Large-scale infrastructure facilities have been created in the surrounding areas to support the construction of the GPP, including 27 km of access roads, a berth on the River Zee, and some 40 km of rail track. The construction site of the main processing plant is some 900 hectares in are (equivalent to approximately 1,100 football pitches). The construction will involve the pouring of more than 430,000 m3 of concrete and the assembly of more than 170,000 tonnes of metal construction elements (equivalent to 23 Eiffel towers). As of the beginning of March 2023 the construction of the GPP was 88.38% complete. The investor, customer and operator of the GPP is Gazprom Pererabotka Blagoveshchensk LLC, part of the Gazprom Group. The General Contractor for the construction project is NIPIGAZ JSC.
