Completion of construction of the new terminal at Ulan-Ude Airport is planned for September 2024
In Ulan-Ude, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District, Yuri Trutnev, inspected the construction of a new air terminal complex for domestic airlines at Baikal International Airport. The project will be implemented in the Buryatia ASEZ.
Airport "Baikal" is the air gateway to the capital of Buryatia, Ulan-Ude. Today, Baikal International Airport serves 14 flights; on February 4, 2024, flights between Ulan-Ude and the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar, were resumed. Airlines use Baikal Airport for transit reloading, as well as for technical landings with refueling.
Construction of a new terminal is underway. A separate two-story building will be constructed on the west side of the existing terminal building. The cost of construction will be 3.1 billion rubles. The total area of the new terminal will be 6.6 thousand square meters, the planned capacity of domestic flights (departures and arrivals) of the airport is 1 million passengers per year, 600 passengers per hour. It is planned that after the launch of the new terminal, the existing airport building will accept international flights.
