The "Hectare" program, implemented by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East jointly with the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), has become an example of a people-centered government initiative. It gives every Russian citizen the right to easily, quickly, and free of charge acquire a plot of land in the country's fastest-growing regions for housing construction, business development, or agricultural development. According to the FEDC, more than 175,000 people have acquired "Far Eastern and Arctic hectares. To assist program participants, FEDC has launched a comprehensive support portal, OsvoyGektar.RF, wh ere users can access reference materials, including helpful instructions and information on additional support measures, model business plans, and standard solutions for using the "hectare."
