The heads of 11 Far Eastern regions reported to Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev on the development of the territories. The reports were made during the second day of the “January hearings” – an off-site meeting to summarize the results of work on the socio-economic development of the Far East in 2024 and priority tasks for 2025.
"Today is our regional day. Together we will analyze how things are going, what is happening, what should be paid attention to. We understand perfectly well that the head of the region in peacetime and during military operations are different roles. Your work today contains new challenges, and sometimes threats. But, I will say again, the federal authorities will continue to support the regions," Yuri Trutnev opened the discussion.
The Deputy Prime Minister drew attention of those present to a number of indicators based on the results of the past year. In terms of growth rates of investment in fixed capital, the four leading regions in the Far Eastern Federal District are: Khabarovsk, Sakhalin, Amur and Chukotka. In terms of growth rates of industrial production in the district, the leaders are Yakutia, Khabarovsk, Buryatia, and Primorye.
The meeting also discussed issues of military-patriotic education, provision of additional social guarantees and benefits to participants of the SVO and their family members, restoration work in the liberated territories, support for enterprises within the framework of the “Patriotic” ASEZ, as well as preparations for the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
"In conclusion, I will repeat once again: the life and well-being of 10.5 million residents of the Far East and the Arctic, and the development of these vast territories depend on the quality of our common work. We must respect the trust of the people and the trust of the President," Yuri Trutnev summed up the two-day discussion.
