Yuri Trutnev: Young people should be able to defend their homeland

In Khabarovsk, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev, together with the Governor of Khabarovsk Region Dmitry Demeshin, inspected the new modular multifunctional sports hall at School No. 9 in Khabarovsk and attended a training session for children's sports groups in Kyokushin karate and other types of martial arts. The facility is one of six being built in Khabarovsk under the program "50 sports halls in schools of the Far Eastern Federal District". The new sports hall has all the necessary equipment. It was built in accordance with the plan for the social development of economic growth centers of Khabarovsk Region using funds from the presidential Unified subsidy provided by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East. The educational institution was allocated more than 59 million rubles for the project. The modular hall with an area of 360 square meters will be able to accommodate about 30 sports fans at a time. The gym will combine such sports as mini-football, basketball, volleyball, karate, taekwondo and judo. In the future, it is planned to open hand-to-hand combat and gymnastics sections here, as well as install a boxing ring.
