Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev held a meeting of the organizing committee for the VIII Summer International Sports Games "Children of Asia" in Yakutsk. “In July of this year we will hold the “Children of Asia” International Sports Games in Yakutsk. This is a major international event in which more than 3 thousand young athletes and teams from 25 foreign countries are planned to participate. Such major competitions with international participation are of particular importance, because it is necessary to form new structures for the development of sports in the world and in our country,” Yuri Trutnev opened the meeting. The international sports games “Children of Asia” will be held in Yakutsk from June 25 to July 7 this year. The first games were organized on the initiative of the first president of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Mikhail Nikolaev and took place in the region in 1996. In total, they were held 9 times (7 times summer and 2 winter), 6 of them in Yakutsk.
