Yuri Trutnev: The “Zvezda” shipbuilding complex has brought heavy shipbuilding back to Russia

Ahead of the opening of the "There Are Results" reporting and program forum, dedicated to the development of territories under the “United Russia” People's Program, Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, Vladimir Yakushev, Secretary of the party's General Council and First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council, and Oleg Kozhemyako, Governor of Primorsky Region, visited the “Zvezda” shipbuilding complex and met with its employees.

"The “Zvezda” shipbuilding complex has brought heavy shipbuilding back to Russia, and developing gas and oil fields without “Zvezda” is simply impossible. Today, we have the only safe and reliable sea route on the planet—the Northern Sea Route. All others depend on a whole host of political circumstances. We need to develop the Northern Sea Route. "Zvezda”'s production program includes the construction of nearly 30 vessels. If we consider the entire Northern Sea Route program, that's over a hundred vessels. We will be working on this. This work is being carried out at the direction of Russian President Vladimir Putin. “Zvezda” was created at his direction. We are working to ensure the project's development," said Yuri Trutnev.

The “Zvezda” Shipbuilding Complex is the youngest and most modern shipyard in Russia, specializing in large-tonnage civilian shipbuilding. This project, strategically important for the Far East and the domestic shipbuilding industry, is being implemented in the town of Bolshoy Kamen in Primorsky Region by a consortium led by “Rosneft” Oil Company, at the request of the President of Russia.
