"Every Far Eastern region has something to show and be proud of. This is demonstrated by the films submitted by our competition participants. There is competition among the regions. Each territory strives to attract as many tourists as possible. The competition is partly responsible for attracting them. This year, the jury received the most films about travels to Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands," said Yuri Trutnev.
Sakhalin Region emerged as the leader in the number of video submissions among the Far Eastern and Arctic regions in the third season of the "Far East – Land of Adventure" competition. Participants submitted the largest number of submissions—177 films—about travel to Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands. Films shot in the region were submitted in every main competition category (except for "Arctic Travel"), as well as in the special "Paths of Victory" category.
Furthermore, the Sakhalin Region leads in the number of films shot for the special "Paths of Victory" category. A total of 39 video submissions were selected for the category. Of these, 11 films are about travels to sites of military glory on Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands, including seven films shot on Shumshu Island and chronicling the Kuril landing operation.
