Yuri Trutnev: with an increase in the number of tracks, the attractiveness of the Bolshoy Vudyavr ski resort will increase

As part of a working trip to the Murmansk region, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev visited the ski resort "Bolshoi Vudyavr" - the largest in the North-West of Russia and one of the best in the country. “Bolshoi Woodyavr” is located in the southern part of the Khibiny massif, on the slopes of Mount Aykuaivenchorr. The ski season at the resort is the longest in Russia at comparable altitudes: it begins in early November and ends in June. The latest artificial snowmaking system operating at the resort helps to further expand the season. There are more than 5 km of artificial snow tracks at the resort. The total length of the resort's tracks is 30 km, of which more than 18 km have high-intensity artificial lighting. This is very important during the polar night in December. The resort has slopes for every skier: from beginners to advanced experts. Some of the tracks have received a permanent certificate of conformity from the International Ski Federation FIS. Every day before the start of skiing, all routes of the ski resort are prepared with snow compacting machines that perfectly level the tracks. Over the past five years, the flow of tourists to the Khibiny Mountains has quadrupled, to 335 thousand people. The average attendance of “Bolshoi Woodyavr” is more than 1.5 thousand guests per day; the peak reaches 5.5 thousand guests per day. Skiers from all over the country come here - after all, the flight from Moscow to Kirovsk is 2 hours, from St. Petersburg only 1.5.
