Yuri Trutnev: the development of border infrastructure with China is of strategic importance

In Khabarovsk, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev held a meeting on the development of the Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island. “In today’s international situation, I believe that the development of border infrastructure with the friendly People’s Republic of China is of strategic importance for Russia,” Yuri Trutnev opened the meeting. The meeting participants unanimously supported the construction of the border crossing. In the near future, Yuri Trutnev will present an agreed position to the President of the Russian Federation. “If Vladimir Vladimirovich supports our decision, then in accordance with the budget process, as well as using available development tools, we will seek funding opportunities in order to quickly move on to construction,” the Deputy Prime Minister said. According to experts, passenger traffic through the island by 2030 will be more than 1.4 million people, and cargo traffic up to 1.3 million tons.
