Yuri Trutnev checked the construction of the hotel and the operation of the fish processing plant on Iturup
Deputy Prime Minister - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation Yuri Trutnev visited these facilities as part of a working trip to the Sakhalin Region.
The “Yankito-2” hotel in Kurilsk is being built by “Gidrostroy” JSC, the largest construction contractor on the Kuril Islands. This is the second hotel of the investor. The area of the four-story hotel was about 5 thousand square meters. 55 rooms of various categories will be created. The hotel will have a panoramic restaurant with 30 seats, a conference hall, and a spa area. The volume of investments in the project is 700 million rubles. The hotel will meet its first visitors in the second quarter of next year.
In total, since 2000, the construction division of the “Gidrostroy” holding has put into operation a number of social facilities on Iturup, including a school, a kindergarten, a hospital, a cultural and sports center, residential buildings, as well as a port point in the village of Kitovy, 14 fish hatcheries; 6 bridges; airport "Yasny" on the island of Iturup. At its own expense, the company built 5 modern fish processing complexes on the islands of Iturup, Shikotan and Sakhalin, a deep-water ice-free berth in Olya Bay (Iturup Island), fish breeding plants in Olya Bay, “Yasny”, “Yankito”, “Lebediny” and others.
On the same day, the Deputy Prime Minister got acquainted with the work of the Yasny fish processing complex of CJSC “Kurilsky Rybak” (“Gidrostroy” holding), one of the largest fish producers in the Sakhalin Region. The construction of the plant began in 2021. More than 1.06 billion rubles have already been invested in the creation of the complex. 250 jobs were created. The plant includes a transport scheme for receiving raw fish from floating craft through a pipeline to receiving bins in a processing shop, automated fish processing lines, lines for the production of fillets, surimi minced meat, and a freezing complex. The system is currently in test mode. The plant can process 430 tons of salmon and 600 tons of pollock per day, and produce 350 tons of finished products. Caviar capacity per day is 15 tons of granular salted caviar and 35 tons of frozen roe. Up to 3,000 tons of finished products can be stored at the plant at a time.
