Yuri Trutnev inspected the progress of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk embankment improvements

In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev and Sakhalin Region Governor Valery Limarenko inspected the Rogatka River embankment, where comprehensive landscaping is ongoing.

The Rogatka Embankment has become a new favorite recreation spot for residents of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and visitors to the island’s capital. The transformation of this public space began four years ago. The extensive work was divided into six phases, united by the concept: "The Park Comes to the City."

The first phase covered the southern bank. A promenade along Komsomolskaya Street was constructed, the embankments were reinforced, and vegetation was planted. The second phase improved the northern bank, repairing the pedestrian bridge and constructing an amphitheater and a covered area for city events. Access to the water was made possible. The main goal of the third phase was the construction of a pedestrian and bicycle bridge. It connected the southern and northern banks with a single, unobstructed route.
