Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev introduced the new head of the region - acting governor Dmitry Demeshin - to the office of the governor and the government of the Khabarovsk Territory, as well as to the deputies of the regional Legislative Duma. Opening the ceremony, Yuri Trutnev read out the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin dated May 15, 2024 on the appointment of Dmitry Demeshin as acting governor of the Khabarovsk Region. “Since 2019, Dmitry Viktorovich has worked as Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, overseeing the Far East. I am sure that the work he did in the prosecutor’s office will help him in his current position. The prosecutor's office monitors compliance with laws, rights and freedoms of citizens. It seems to me that the rights and freedoms of citizens are what the new leader of the region should put at the forefront of his work.”, said Yuri Trutnev.
