This year, Transbaikalia celebrates two anniversaries at once. 15 years ago, the Trans-Baikal Region, a new region of the Russian Federation, was formed. 5 years ago, it became part of the Far Eastern Federal District.
After joining the Far Eastern Federal District, residents of Transbaikalia were able to receive such state support measures as the “Far Eastern hectare” and the “Far Eastern mortgage”. As a result, more than 6,000 people have already received plots of land, more than 9,000 families have moved into new apartments. Under the Far East program "Unified subsidy" it was possible to build 322 objects. These are schools, kindergartens, outpatient clinics, sports grounds, cultural facilities. Another 688 objects have been repaired.
In the preferential territories of Transbaikalia, 47 investment projects are being implemented for a total amount of more than 330 billion rubles. In fact, 164 billion have already been invested. Residents of special economic zones have completed 11 projects, 5.7 thousand jobs have been created.
Great efforts are required to fight floods and fires. Work has been carried out to restore protective dams in 62 settlements. Work is underway on the construction and design of 7 dams in the city of Chita and 3 settlements of the region with a length of 46.8 km. In 2022-2025 more than 3 billion rubles are to be allocated from the federal budget for the creation of hydro technical facilities. New fire equipment is purchased annually.
