Yuri Trutnev visited a fish processing plant in the village of Ozerskoye on Sakhalin

During a working visit to the Sakhalin Region, Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev visited a modern fish processing facility in the village of Ozerskoye, Korsakovsky District. The new facility was built by “Gidrostroy”, the largest fish processing company in the Far East.

"This isn't our first time at “Gidrostroy”'s facilities. And I can say that the company's management is a team that's doing a lot to develop the Far East. The company's director just told us that five large fish processing complexes have already been built. The company is growing, and that means the segment it serves is also growing. New businesses are being built, new jobs are being created. We just discussed issues related to fish reproduction. Salmon numbers are declining. However, there has been a surge in the herring population. These developments must be considered in the support mechanisms the government offers to businesses," said Yuri Trutnev.

The plant in Ozersky began operations in October 2025. The new complex occupies 10,000 square meters and is part of the existing “Kirov Fishing Collective Farm”. The facility was built in one year under the federal investment quota program. The total investment amounted to 3.7 billion rubles.
