This order was given by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District, Yuri Trutnev, following a meeting of the presidium of the Government Commission on the socio-economic development of the Far East. At the meeting, changes to the “Affordable Rental Housing in the Far Eastern Federal District” program were discussed. The program for the creation of rental housing is being implemented as part of the implementation of the order of the head of state given following the results of the Eastern Economic Forum in 2022, and is included in the list of Strategic Initiatives of the Russian Government. As part of the program, with the participation of JSC DOM.RF, it is planned to build at least 10 thousand new rental apartments for students, young professionals, as well as other categories of citizens that will be determined by the constituent entities of the Far Eastern Federal District. The government has allocated 87 billion rubles for these purposes. Rent will be affordable due to subsidized rates from the federal and regional budgets. For citizens it will be approximately 1/4 of the average market level. “There was a proposal to try to extend this mechanism for preferential rental housing, giving citizens the opportunity to buy an apartment within the framework of a preferential “Far Eastern mortgage.” It is necessary to work out an algorithm for implementing this proposal. I believe that then the program for affordable rental housing will become more interesting for people,” noted Yuri Trutnev.
