Yuri Trutnev instructed the Business Council of the Russian Far East and Northeast China to create a mechanism for exchanging experience in the field of technology

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev gave this instruction in Harbin on the sidelines of the sixth meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Chinese Commission for Cooperation and Development of the Russian Far East and Northeast China, and reiterated it at the third meeting of the Business Council for Cooperation between the Russian Far East and Northeast China.

"Obviously, both the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation have their own experience, practical results, and achievements in technology. Creating a mechanism for sharing this experience will make our countries stronger. I propose that the Business Council develop appropriate mechanisms," said Yuri Trutnev, discussing technological development between the two countries. He recalled that, at the direction of Russian President Vladimir Putin, an innovative scientific and technological center is being created on Russky Island. It will house research and development facilities in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, biomedicine, artificial intelligence and big data, industrial and mobile robots, and unmanned aerial vehicles. According to Yuri Trutnev, "the center could become a vital platform for cutting-edge scientific and technological developments and the exchange of experience."

During the 3rd meeting of the Business Council, issues in transport and logistics, shipbuilding, agriculture, energy, and tourism were discussed. The parties shared their experiences in increasing mutual trade turnover and attracting investment in joint projects. According to Alexander Kakhidze, CEO of “Fininvest” LLC and Chairman of the Russian section of the Business Council, the initiative to launch regular shuttle services through the Grodekovo-Suifenhe and Kamyshovaya-Hunchun railway checkpoints connecting with Russia's largest dry port, the TLC “Artem”, could be implemented even today.
