Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev held a meeting in Ulan-Ude on the implementation of investment projects in the field of tourism in the Republic of Buryatia. During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister outlined the main requirements that must be observed when implementing investment projects in protected natural areas.
“There are some important aspects of the
implementation of investment projects in Buryatia. First, we are talking about
the protection of Lake Baikal and “specially protected natural areas”. Baikal
is an exclusive territory, the only such lake on our planet. Is it necessary to
create a tourist infrastructure here? – Of course, it is necessary. Tourist
complexes, equipped with the necessary accomodation, are less of a burden on
nature than wild recreation, which leaves behind not very pleasant traces. Our
common task is to find solutions that will preserve nature, but at the same
time create conditions for the recreation of citizens. It is necessary to find
a balance between ecology and investment activities,” Yury Trutnev specified.
