Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District, Chairman of the EEF Organizing Committee Yuri Trutnev held a meeting on the progress of preparations for the Tenth Eastern Economic Forum.
"We continue to prepare for the anniversary Eastern Economic Forum. The EEF gives impetus to the development of the Far East, new investment projects are coming to the Far Eastern regions. It was from the Far East that (such projects as) territories of advanced development, the "Hectare" program, preferential mortgages and master plans for the development of cities began. Residents of the Far East feel the changes. New enterprises and airports are being built, jobs are being created. It is obvious that much remains to be done. Continuing to work on the implementation of the President's instructions, we must clearly understand that the Far East plays a special role today. It is becoming a transit territory for the markets of Russia and the countries of the Asia-Pacific region," Yuri Trutnev opened the meeting.
It is expected that about six thousand people will take part in the Forum. The geography of participants already covers 36 countries and territories.
