Yuri Trutnev inspected the progress of the Blagoveshchensk airport modernization

During a working visit to the Amur Region, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev reviewed the progress of reconstruction, modernization, and operation of infrastructure facilities at the Blagoveshchensk (Ignatievo) International Airport named after Muravyov-Amursky.

A large-scale reconstruction of the airport's terminal complex is currently being completed. Construction began in 2023. The building covers over 25,000 square meters, with a design capacity of 600 passengers per hour on domestic routes and 400 passengers per hour on international routes.

The new 3,000-meter-long, 45-meter-wide runway has been successfully in operation since 2023. It can handle all types of aircraft. This year, Blagoveshchensk Airport welcomed the "Queen of the Skies"—the double-deck Boeing 747—for the first time. New taxiways, an apron with five parking bays, wastewater treatment facilities, an emergency rescue station, and a patrol road have also been commissioned. Reconstruction of the general aviation apron is underway.
