Yuri Trutnev: it is necessary to create conditions of freedom and security for business in the Far East

Objectives to improve the investment climate and develop entrepreneurship in the Far East and the Arctic were discussed at the meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev and First Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Anatoly Razinkin. “The growth of the economy and the well-being of citizens depend on investment attractiveness. In accordance with the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the regions are working to improve the investment climate. Today, the Far East is the leader among federal districts in attracting investments per capita. To date, the volume of actual investments in the Far East has amounted to 3.4 trillion rubles. 673 projects have been put into operation, more than 124 thousand jobs have been created,” Yury Trutnev opened the meeting. The development of the Far East was determined by the head of state as a national priority for the 21st century. The Russian government has created conditions for the development of the macro region. For the period from 2014 to 2023, 75 Federal Laws and 439 Acts of the Government of Russia were adopted. On the territory of the Far Eastern Federal District, a set of state support measures for investors is being implemented: tax incentives and customs preferences, provision of land and the necessary infrastructure, including reimbursement of costs for its creation, the possibility of concessional financing. “For the period from 2014 to 2022, the growth of investments in fixed assets in the territory of the Far Eastern Federal District amounted to 39%, which is three times higher than the national average of 13%. 20% of investments in fixed assets were made in investment projects implemented with state support. This year, the positions in the National rating of seven out of eleven subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District have improved,” said Alexei Chekunkov, Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic.
