Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev held a conference on the socio-economic development of Kamchatka Region.
The participants of the meeting discussed the development of the main branches of the economy and aspects of the social sphere.
The basis of the regional economy is the fishing industry. In addition, minerals are extracted on the peninsula, and the tourism industry is developing. In terms of wages, the region ranks third in the Russian Far East.
The most important area is the creation of comfortable living conditions for people. Particular attention is paid to improving the quality of medical and educational services, creating sports infrastructure. Attention was paid to issues of stimulating housing construction. In 2024, 82 thousand square meters of residential premises were commissioned in the region. This is the eighth place among the Far Eastern regions.
