Yuri Trutnev: the annual long-range shooting tournament in memory of Hero of the Soviet Union Fyodor Okhlopkov may gain international status

The winners of the third All-Russian Long-Range Shooting Tournament, dedicated to the memory of legendary World War II sniper and Hero of the Soviet Union Fyodor Matveyevich Okhlopkov, were announced in Yakutsk. The competition was chaired by Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District.

First place in the "Night" stage, with a distance of 2,100 meters, went to a sniper with the call sign "Fizruk" and a spotter with the call sign "Ridik." This result set a tournament record. An additional prize—a special certificate for 3 million rubles—was awarded for this achievement.

At the “Sulus” Shooting Training Center, over 130 top marksmen from across the country, including participants in the special military operation, competed in daytime and nighttime shooting events. Among those who demonstrated their skills and took to the firing line were active military personnel, law enforcement and special forces personnel, and civilian shooting enthusiasts.

To qualify for the main stages of the competition, participants had to qualify by hitting a 400mm diameter target at a distance of 1,000 meters with two shots.

Summing up the tournament, Yuri Trutnev stated that the event could become international: "We will invite a number of countries friendly to Russia to participate in the future tournament, so participants should be prepared for even higher competition."
