Yuri Trutnev: "The fight against the consequences of heavy snowfalls in Kamchatka is not over"

To expedite the cyclone cleanup effort, at the request of Deputy Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev, snow removal equipment was provided by Primorye, Sakhalin, and Moscow. The Russian Ministry of Civil Defense, Emergencies, and Disaster Relief (EMERCOM of Russia) allocated an IL-76 aircraft to transport the specialized equipment, which has already delivered the first equipment to Kamchatka.

However, some of the heavy equipment could not be transported on the Il-76 due to its size. Therefore, Yuri Trutnev contacted the Russian Ministry of Defense with a request to allocate an Antonov An-124 Ruslan aircraft. Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov assured Yuri Trutnev that the necessary aircraft would be provided.
