Yuri Trutnev: Amur Region is the leader in the Far East in terms of attracted investment

In Blagoveshchensk, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev held a meeting on the progress of new investment projects in the Amur Region.

The Amur Region is the leader in the Far East in terms of attracted investment. Over the past 10 years, investment projects implemented in the Amur Region with state support have attracted over 2 trillion rubles. In total, more than 70 investment projects with a total investment volume of 2.5 trillion rubles are being implemented in the region with government support. Twenty-two of these projects have been commissioned, creating nearly 15,000 new jobs. These include the country's largest enterprises—the Amur Gas Processing Plant and the Amur Gas Chemical Complex. Large regional enterprises producing liquefied natural gas and processing oilseeds are underway, the “Kun-Manye” nickel-copper deposit is being developed, and coal is being mined. Expanding economic ties with China, the construction of the Blagoveshchensk-Heihe bridge, and the cable car across the Amur River in Blagoveshchensk are creating additional opportunities for realizing the region's investment potential, leading to projects in logistics, tourism, and high technology. At today's meeting, we will review investors' plans to build two logistics hubs, an industrial park, a wind farm, and residential areas in the Amur Region—projects that will attract over 150 billion rubles to the Far East. We will also discuss the support investors need in today's challenging economic and political environment," Yuri Trutnev opened the meeting.

"Amur Region has compiled a list of promising investment projects in the highest-priority sectors—agriculture, mining, logistics, and tourism. The total investment in the region's economy is estimated at 500 billion rubles. In particular, several projects will be implemented in alternative energy," noted Governor Vasily Orlov.
