Speech by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev at the final meeting of the board of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East

Today, we are summing up the work of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and the entire system responsible for developing the Far East and the Arctic in 2025.

The system of preferences established by decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin, along with the work of the Ministry and the corporation, ensures the accelerated development of strategically important macroregions – the Far East and the Arctic.

In terms of investment growth, industrial production, and housing construction, the Far East is almost a third ahead of the Russian average. This is happening despite unprecedented sanctions pressure and actions by our adversaries who are attempting to slow Russia's economic development. Existing government support instruments have enabled investors to invest over 1 trillion rubles in projects in the Far East and the Arctic by 2025. More than 230 new enterprises have been built, and 25,000 new jobs have been created.

Today, as our compatriots and friends fight for our country's independence, we are obligated to support them in every way possible. I would like to thank all the employees of the Ministry and the Development Corporation who took part in the fighting. Thank you!

The “Patriotic” ASEZ we created has supported 28 military equipment and weapons production facilities. In total, over 170,000 items were delivered from the Far East to the special operation zone between 2023 and 2025.

The Far East accounts for 41% of Russia's territory and has a population of nearly 8 million people, for whose benefit we all labor. Much work remains. I would like to remind everyone present that poor performance while the country is engaged in military action is unacceptable! It would be more honorable to bow out and go to the front. I wish you all success!
