The Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) and the online educational platform Uchi.ru announce the launch of the VIII All-Russian meta-subject Olympiad "Closer to the Far East " for students in grades 1-11 and first- and second-year students of professional educational organizations (based on 9th grades). Registration for participation in the Olympiad will be open from November 19. The Olympiad will be held in three stages. The first round will be held online on the Uchi.ru platform from November 19, 2024 to January 27, 2025 for all participants. The 2nd round will be held online on the Uchi.ru platform from February 11 to March 20, 2025. Its participants will be students in grades 8–11 and students in years 1–2 of professional educational organizations (PEO) who have a passing score in the 1st round. The 3rd round will be in person and will take place from April 14 to 19, 2025. For the first time in the history of the project, it will be held at several venues at once: FEFU (Vladivostok), PNU (Khabarovsk), DalGAU (Blagoveshchensk), NEFU (Yakutsk), Sakhalin State University (Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk). The participants of the super final will be students of grades 10–11 and students of 1–2 years of vocational education who successfully passed the 2nd round. The results of the Olympiad will be announced on April 20, 2025 and posted on the FEFU website. The All-Russian meta-subject Olympiad "Closer to the Far East" is a scientific and educational project. The project participants - schoolchildren from all regions of the Russian Federation - can immerse themselves in such subject areas as history, cultural studies, geography, economics, biology, philology, international relations and political science. The Olympiad has been held since 2017. During this time, more than 855 thousand schoolchildren and students from 85 regions of the Russian Federation took part in it, including more than 60 thousand schoolchildren from the Far Eastern Federal District.
