Opportunities for successfully launching a tourism business in the Far East and the Arctic were presented during ITHI-2025

The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) presented unique government support measures for the implementation of investment projects in the tourism sector at the 31st International Tourism and Hospitality Industry Exhibition (ITHI). "Today, domestic tourism is actively developing in our country. And I would like to express special gratitude for the achievements in this area to those who put faith, soul and financial resources into the development of tourism in the Far East and the Arctic. Last year, the tourist flow to the Far Eastern regions increased significantly and amounted to 6.5 million people, and by 2030 this figure should reach 12 million tourists. The Far East is also attractive to our closest neighbors from the Asia-Pacific region. In 2024, 740 thousand travelers from China came to the regions of the Far East. The beauty and grandeur of the Far East is love for life! And it is not surprising that every third tourist returns to the macro-region within two years," said Alexey Chekunkov, Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, in his greeting to the guests and participants of the exhibition. The head of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East noted that today, with the support of the state, 399 investment agreements in the field of tourism and recreation are already being implemented in the macro-region with a total investment volume of more than 280 billion rubles, and 18 thousand jobs are being created. In the Far East and the Arctic, under the management of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), unique mechanisms of state support for business operate - 18 territories of advanced development (ASEZ), a preferential regime on the Kuril Islands of the Russian Federation (KIRF), the largest preferential territory in the world - the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation (AZRF), and in 22 municipalities of five regions of the Far East, the regime of the Free Port of Vladivostok (FPV) operates. Residents have access to reduced tax rates, administrative support and assistance at all stages of project implementation - from filing an application for resident status and project packaging to promoting products and services, attracting personnel to new enterprises. Investors have access to land and infrastructure support, including reimbursement of costs for the creation of supporting infrastructure.
