A mining and metallurgical cluster for the production of titanomagnetite and ilmenite concentrates has officially opened in the Tynda district. The symbolic button was pressed during a teleconference within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum - 2023. The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev, as well as the head of the Ministry for the Development of the Far East and Arctic Alexey Chekunkov . At the same time, two more production facilities started operating in the country: a gold extraction plant in Magadan and a mining and metallurgical plant in Transbaikalia. “The Eastern Economic Forum is one of the tools for the development of the Far East. At the Forum, issues of economic and social development are discussed, partnership agreements are concluded, and new projects and endeavors are launched. Today, with the participation of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, we launched three new projects representing the mining and metallurgy industries. More than 280 billion rubles of investment were invested in the implementation of the presented projects, 5.4 thousand new jobs were created,” said Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev. “Over ten years, almost 800 billion rubles have been invested in the development of mining and metallurgical projects in the Far East. The new project is aimed both at realizing the natural advantages of the Far East and at import substitution. The production of titanomagnetite and ilmenite concentrates, which is strategically important for the entire economy of the country, will appear in the Amur Region. The project has important social significance, as new high-tech and decently paid jobs will be created,” said Alexey Chekunkov, head of the Ministry for the Development of the Far East and Arctic.
