In the Chinese city of Harbin, musicians from the Arctic State Institute of Culture and Arts (AGICA, Yakutsk) and the Harbin Conservatory performed joint gala concerts. The combined orchestra of Russian, Yakut and Chinese folk instruments debuted with the world premiere of the musical work "Silk Road and Peace", written by composer Nikolai Mikheev especially for the AGIKA orchestra's trip to China. The performance of the orchestra, symbolizing the mutual attraction of the cultures of the two great countries, was enthusiastically received by the residents of Harbin. The representatives of the Heilongjiang provincial authorities who attended the concert noted the role of music in strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation between Russia and China. The implementation of the project became possible thanks to the participation of AGIKI in the program of qualitative transformation of higher education “Priority 2030. Far East”. Gasan Gasanbalaev, Executive Director of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) for social development, reported that the project was implemented under the AGIKI development program for 2022-2030 as part of the “Priority 2030. Far East” program in cooperation with the Harbin Conservatory. "The Priority 2030. Far East program creates additional opportunities for universities in the Far East to develop cooperation with friendly countries in a number of areas. In 2023, AGIKI signed an agreement with the Harbin Conservatory to join the Russian-Chinese Music Union. The creation of a joint orchestra and its performance took place in accordance with the Union's plan for the current concert season," noted Gasan Gasanbalaev.
