VEB.RF will support the creation of more than 1,000 new jobs in the Far East

The state corporation VEB.RF will provide preferential loans (with a Far Eastern subsidy) in the amount of 16 billion rubles for the construction of the world's first interstate cable car, which will connect Russia and China across the Amur River. In addition, three more projects in the Amur Region and Primorye will be financed. The implementation of these projects will ensure the creation of more than 1,000 jobs. The corresponding decision was made following a meeting of the Presidium of the Government Commission on the Socio-Economic Development of the Far East, chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation – Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev. The project to create a cross-border cable car is being implemented within the framework of the intergovernmental agreement between the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China dated September 3, 2015, and involves the construction of stations and passenger terminals for the cable car on opposite banks of the Amur River on the Russian and Chinese sides. According to the design documentation, the journey along the future cable car from Blagoveshchensk to Heihe should take about three minutes, and the capacity of the cable car terminal will be 6,850 passengers per day or up to 2.5 million passengers per year.
