An interregional educational seminar on urban development is being held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk

A two-day interregional educational seminar, "Modern Approaches to the Development and Management of the Urban Environment," has opened in Sakhalin. It was organized by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, the Ministry of Construction, the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), and the Government of the Sakhalin Region. The event is attended by more than 50 heads of municipalities and their deputies, heads of competence centers, public space operators, architects, and urban development specialists from the Khabarovsky, Primorsky Regions, Jewish Autonomous District, the Republic of Buryatia, and other Far Eastern regions.

The goal of the seminar is to develop municipal teams' modern competencies in the areas of strategic territorial development, design, creation, and effective operation of public spaces, as well as attracting extra-budgetary funding for urban improvement projects. During the seminar, experts presented the Sakhalin Region's experience in integrated territorial development management, the implementation of the federal project "Creating a Comfortable Urban Environment," and modern approaches to public space design. Participants learned about navigating resident requests, practices for engaging businesses in project implementation, issues of urban environment standardization, and designing for the subsequent exploitation of facilities.
