The first full-cycle film studio in the Far East is being designed in Yakutsk

A working meeting was held in Yakutsk between the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), the “Sakhafilm” film company, and the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) Development Corporation. The parties discussed the concept of a multifunctional, full-service film studio—the flagship facility of the republic's capital's master plan. The new venue will integrate all the necessary support tools for film production in the region and will drive the development of creative industries throughout the Far East.

The project is being implemented at the request of the President of Russia as part of the comprehensive renovation of 25 cities in the Far Eastern Federal District. The film studio will be the first facility beyond the Urals to support the full film production cycle—from development and filming to post-production.

"We are revising the financial model and overall concept of the facility to ensure the pavilion becomes a fully-fledged cinema center and a growth point for all Far Eastern cinema. Combining regional and federal support measures will allow us to build a coordinated effort to develop the industry," noted Pyotr Gogolev, Director of Creative Industries Development at the Development Corporation of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
