One of the priorities of Russia’s chairmanship is the development of human capital in the Arctic. Improving the welfare and quality of life of the population is the main goal of Russia's state policy in the Arctic zone. The key factor affecting the territory’s quality of life and investment attractiveness is a comfortable urban environment.
The conference will be attended by representatives from the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Russian Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, major companies, as well as the heads of the regions of the AZRF and leading experts.
The participants will discuss:
- Strategic planning and service economy for the sustainable development of the Arctic;
- The role of a high-quality and saturated urban environment in increasing the resilience of Arctic cities;
- The creative economy being a key element in the sustainable development of the Arctic;
- New tools and the role of socio-cultural projects in developing the urban environment;
- Master plans for cities, a “hectare in the Arctic,” the role of Arctic universities and youth in the development of territories, the best practices of other regions to integrate their experience, the Arctic standard of improvement, and many others.
