Construction of the Naiba deep-water cargo terminal has begun in Yakutia

Construction of the Naiba deep-water cargo terminal has commenced at the seaport of Tiksi. The project was launched by Nikolai Patrushev, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Marine Board, who noted that the terminal would serve as key infrastructure for developing the resource base and enhancing the reliability of Northern Supply deliveries, as well as acting as a pivotal hub for the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor (TTC).

"On the instructions of the President of Russia, preparations are underway for a comprehensive project to develop the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation and the Trans-Arctic transport corridor. Naiba is set to become a key maritime infrastructure hub for developing the northeastern part of Russia's Arctic zone, tapping into its vast mineral and raw material resources, and enhancing the reliability of the Northern Supply Delivery system," noted Nikolai Patrushev.

The first construction machinery has already arrived at the site, and specialists have begun engineering surveys for the construction of the berth. “Taimyr Invest” company is acting as the infrastructure operator and lead investor. To meet the needs of the initial phase, a temporary marine berth will be built first; a permanent port will subsequently be constructed at the same location.
