A modern embankment called “Singing Sands” was opened in Vilyuysk, built with a grant from the Improvement Competition

The Yakut city of Vilyuysk held a ceremonial opening of a new landscaped embankment. The project, called "Singing Sands", was implemented with federal funds thanks to winning the Competition for the Creation of a Comfortable Urban Environment for the Regions of the Far Eastern Federal District, which is being held on behalf of the President of Russia. The new embankment in Vilyuysk has become another example of the transformation of small towns in the Far East thanks to state support. In the macroregion, the work on the implementation of state programs and federal target programs aimed at the comprehensive renovation of cities in the Far Eastern Federal District is supervised by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC).

The new embankment is a modern public space for city residents of all ages. Pedestrian promenades, observation platforms, play complexes, cafes and cozy gazebos have appeared here. The atmosphere is complemented by art objects: the entrance group, the sturgeon monument, the prefabricated modular structure "Church", boat-shaped swings and a staircase leading down to the river. Sports grounds, workout zones and bike paths are provided for fans of active recreation. In the evening, the space is transformed thanks to architectural lighting.
