A meeting on the topic of "Gasification and its derivatives: gas chemistry and petrochemistry as a driver of economic growth in the Far Eastern Federal District" was held in the Federation Council. The meeting was moderated by Anastasia Nabatchikova, Deputy Director of the Investment Attraction Department of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC).
Opening the event, member of the Federation Council Committee on Federal Structure, Regional Policy, and Local Self-Government Alexander Rolik reported that the meeting was being held as part of the implementation of the instructions of the Federation Council Chairperson Valentina Matviyenko and Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev on organizing a thematic session at the 10th Eastern Economic Forum under the auspices of the Federation Council on issues of improving the legislative regulation of preferential regimes in the Far East and the Arctic.
The senator outlined the most pressing issues in the development of the gas chemical and petrochemical industry in the Far East, such as: a program to support projects within the framework of import substitution of equipment for the oil and gas complex, gasification of the Far East and prospects for petrochemicals, implementation of the largest high-tech and environmentally friendly complex of mineral fertilizers in Primorsky Region; the use of banking instruments to support investment activity in the Far East.
Alexander Rolik also drew attention to the programs for the development of gas supply and gasification in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), and the main areas of development of oil and gas processing in the Khabarovsk Region.
