Three coal mining plants with a total production capacity of up to 3.5 million tons of coal per year will be built in Primorye

At the Eastern Economic Forum, the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) and “Mosstroytrans Corporation” LLC signed a cooperation agreement to develop the Vangou coal deposit and the Orekhovskoye and Nezhinskoye brown coal deposits. Total investment in developing the three deposits is estimated at 6.7 billion rubles, and 610 new jobs are planned to be created. The document was signed by Kirill Kamenev, Deputy General Director for Investment Promotion at FEDC, and Merabi Chochua, President of “Mosstroytrans Corporation” LLC.

The coal will be mined for the needs of Primorsky Region. The proximity of the deposits to consumers will allow for optimal routes, reducing transportation costs and shortening delivery times. Furthermore, the development of deposits in Primorsky Region will free up some of the Eastern Polygon's transport capacity, which can be used for other cargo destined for eastern ports.
