In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, representatives of the Orthodox Church met with the head of the Ministry of Eastern Development of Russia Alexei Chekunkov
On February 20, at the diocesan administration of the Peter and Paul diocese, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kiril, a working meeting was held between the Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Alexei Chekunkov with representatives of the Administration of the Moscow Patriarchate, the Synodal Department for Relations of the Church with Society and the Media and the managers of the Far Eastern dioceses - Archbishop Theodore of Petropavlovsk and Kamchatka, Archbishop Nikanor of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Kuril, Metropolitan Dimitry of Chita and Petrovsk-Zabaikalsk.
The meeting was dedicated to discussing pressing issues in the activities of the Far Eastern dioceses, as well as promising areas of their cooperation with federal and regional authorities.
During the meeting, the archpastors of the Far Eastern dioceses had the opportunity to address questions to government officials and share opinions on the necessary additional efforts to develop the educational and social activities of the Church.
