In the Murmansk region, a resident of the Russian Arctic will build a plant for processing ash and slag waste into construction materials

A new resident of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, the “Reed-Capital Arctic” company, will soon begin construction of an industrial complex for processing ash and slag waste from the Apatity Heat and Power Plant. The volume of investments in the project under an agreement with the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation will amount to more than 1.7 billion rubles; 220 residents of the Murmansk region will receive work at the new enterprise. The declared capacity of the project will be about 150 thousand tons per year of ash and slag waste; the processing products will be iron-containing concentrate for the metallurgical industry, dry construction mixtures, reinforced concrete panels and sand. The new plant should completely process all waste from the Apatity Heat and Power Plant, as well as eliminate the waste dumps accumulated over 20 years, returning the land to economic use. Russian equipment will be used in production, with the prospect of introducing new technologies.
