On March 5, the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) hosted a presentation of the cinema equipment complex of the Yakut company “Extra Cinema”, which allows for affordable high-quality film screenings in remote communities. The project was supported by the President of Russia: the company's equipment has already been installed in 72 cinemas in Yakutia and will be distributed to 20,000 cultural centers in small towns and villages across the country. The development of the “Extra Cinema” cinema complex was launched at the “Yakutia” Technopark in 2020. The complex consists of several parts that work together: a digital platform, a projector and its software. The technology is adapted for hard-to-reach areas: it provides bright high-resolution images, provides access to its own server and content storage, allows you to manage sessions and make online payments for reproduction rights. The system can be connected to the EAIS and the “Pushkin Map”. The company plans to further improve the equipment and increase the power of the projectors.
