The FEDC will present the experience of Yakutia in creating cinema halls in small settlements using the “Extra Cinema” technology

On March 5, 2025, a presentation of the “Extra Cinema” technology developed in Yakutia will take place at the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC). The innovative hardware and software complex were created to equip cinemas in small towns, provide residents with access to high-quality film screenings, and support domestic cinema. The equipment of the company "Extra Cinema" has already been installed in 72 cinema halls in Yakutia; the Far Eastern development is planned for scaling in other regions of Russia. "The “Extra Cinema” project was supported by the President of Russia. On his instructions, a program for equipping cinema halls in almost 20 thousand cultural centers in small towns and villages of the country is being developed and will be implemented. We consider the work of the “Extra Cinema” company to be especially important for the development of creative industries in the Far East. This is a new step for domestic film distribution technologies, which creates new opportunities and prospects for the entire Russian film industry as a whole. On the part of the FEDC, we will provide comprehensive support to the project," notes the executive director of the Corporation Gasan Gasanbalaev.
