The Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) together with “Kept” held an expert session in preparation for the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) on the topic of "Special Administrative Regions (SAR): achievements, prospects and issues of current interest". During the event, experts discussed opportunities for business development in the SAR, administrative preferences, tax breaks, current issues of deoffshorization and the process. "In 2025, it will be 7 years since the legislation on special administrative regions came into force. Much has changed in the past seven years, legislation has been improved. The popularity of the legal institution of the SAR is growing - the influx of new residents is increasing every year. The SAR on Russky Island in Vladivostok is developing intensively, largely due to the effective interaction of business and the management company, FEDC. In recent years, there has been a rapid increase in the number of residents,” said Mikhail Orlov, partner, head of the tax and legal consulting department at “Kept”. JSC "Corporation for the Development of the Far East and Arctic" (FEDC) is the management company of the SAR on the territory of Russky Island. Currently, 111 participants are registered on the island, who over 7 years have returned control over assets worth 5.5 trillion rubles to the Russian Federation and paid more than 30 billion rubles in taxes to budgets of various levels.
