FEDC has identified the conditions for turning the Far East into a leader in inbound tourism

At the "International Tourism: A Model for Attracting Foreign Tourists to the Far East" session at AmurExpo-2026, Yulia Ivanova, Deputy Director of the Investment Department of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), explained that success in attracting foreign visitors is possible with a unified regional promotion program.

Yulia Ivanova noted the industry's positive dynamics: over the past four years, total tourist traffic has grown by a third, reaching 7.2 million people in 2025, while hotel occupancy has increased by 17%. She cited government support measures as key drivers – from visa-free travel with China to preferential business support programs, including for the creation of tourism infrastructure.

"Today, every tenth investment project in the Far East is being implemented in the tourism sector. Around 300 residents of priority development areas (ASEZ’s), the Free Port (FPV), and other preferential regimes under agreements with the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation are implementing projects with an investment volume of 350 billion rubles and creating 23,500 new jobs," said Yulia Ivanova.
