The forum aimed to enhance municipalities' competencies in the creation, effective operation, and socio-cultural enrichment of public spaces. Participants discussed the implementation of national projects, the development of public-private partnerships, legislative initiatives, and presented successful cases of creating new parks in the Far East.
"The development of parks and public spaces is not just a matter of beautification; it's an investment in the quality of life in the Far East and a contribution to the sustainable development of our cities. Master plans for Far Eastern cities include over 100 parks, squares, and boulevards, 20% of which have already been implemented. Thanks to a special Far Eastern beautification competition, over 110 public spaces have also been created in small towns in the Far East. We place a strong emphasis on supporting municipalities in preparing their applications for the competition, and we have launched an educational program for city teams called "Urban Development Management," noted Elvira Nurgalieva, Deputy Minister of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East.
