The multifunctional public space "Khii Morin" has opened in Buryatia

The project won the competition for the best urban development projects and is part of the Ulan-Ude master plan. In the Republic of Buryatia, active work on municipal improvements continues. Winning the Competition for the Best Projects for Creating a Comfortable Urban Environment for Municipalities in the Far East allows the region's cities and villages to be transformed and become more livable. The competition is being held at the request of the President of the Russian Federation with the support of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC).

A new multifunctional public space, "Khii Morin" (Horse of the Wind of Fortune), has opened in Sotnikovo, one of the largest villages in Buryatia with a population of approximately 11,000. The 1,700-square-meter building is included in the master plan for the Ulan-Ude metropolitan area.

Deputy Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East Elvira Nurgalieva recalled that the Sotnikovo project was one of the winners of the 2023 improvement competition, which awarded grants to six Buryatia settlements, including Severobaikalsk, Gusinoozersk, Zakamensk, and the villages of Kabansk and Kyren. In 2024, three more projects in Buryatia received federal support in the villages of Onokhoy, Kamensk, and Khorinsk. In 2025, seven projects won the competition, including a large-scale improvement project for the main tourist street in the city of Kyakhta, "Capital of the Great Tea Route," which won 150 million rubles in federal funding and will be implemented with the active participation of the Kyakhta Museum of Local History.
